We produce an aesthetic balance to acquire.
What do you specialize in?
Novel and unique surface textures that support fit and function, on custom woven and handwoven fabrics in very distinctive colorways which help build freshness for classic and comfortable silhouettes.
What are you inspired by?
We are inspired by the possibilities of creation that lie at the intersection of disciplines. Using visual design, tailoring excellence and textile engineering, we want to create new and surprising sartorial experiences for our patrons. We also want to address comfort and fit issues for our clients that they may not even realise needed to or could be fixed. One example of this is our modern-day corset, made entirely without the use of boning material, allowing for a much more comfortable wear. Our scaled smocking pants are another example - the smocking allows for the materials to stretch and fit to accommodate all body types, and the scaling ensures that the silhouette is still fashionably flared.
What is the history of the brand?
ACQUIRE was officially launched in 2023, but its birth was a long time coming. Our founder, Angelique Raina, has been working in the fashion industry since she was 16. At 34, she took all her learnings from an impressive, nearly two-decades long career and put them into finally building her own brand. Our journey thus far has been split into two phases. Phase 1 was creating the brand, and then retailing independently and via pop-ups and multi-brand stores. We focused on nurturing 1-on-1 client relationships and building up the product itself. Phase two is this website, which allows us to expand our retail operations. The future is phase three, a store of our own.

How often do you come out with new collections?
We don't think of our stock as being split into collections, we prefer catalogues. Our inventory includes over 120 styles that we release in unique combinations of colour, textures and silhouettes four times a year. We want to create a trans-seasonal wardrobe for our patrons, therefore necessitating four catalogues in each calendar year.
Why are your collections called Lots and Catalogues?
We think of our stock items as art pieces to be acquired. Artists often arrange their oeuvre in catalogues, with each individual item being referred to as a lot. We follow the same system.
What is your definition of luxury?
Luxury is uniqueness and reliability, it is peak craftsmanship, and uncompromisingly ethical production. Luxury is the physical manifestation of all that you hold close to your heart. With wearables, most importantly, luxury is enjoyable to wear.
Above all, luxury is a feeling that sits just out of reach - you can't always acquire it, but with ACQUIRE clothing, you can come close
Who is your target consumer / patron ?
ACQUIRE's ideal patron appreciates nuance, and has a discerning eye for good tailoring. They care about the ethics of production and the design process. They demand both style and comfort that exist at their peak, and in harmony.
What made you start designing clothes?
Clothing was our founder's first understanding of how design could change your understanding of the world, and shape your reality. It was her first stepping stone as a designer.
If ACQUIRE was a perspective, how would you see the world?
ACQUIRE is our perspective to engage with the world. It is a curated gallery-environment, a space for play and discovery that allows us to interact with the world in a way that makes the most sense to us.
How do you integrate sustainability into the brand?
We just try to be better, and use leftover fabric from our production partner who is a leading exporter. We try to use patterns with the least wastage and use the wastage to create small items we gift, all packaging is cloth or brown recycled paper.
The most sustainable thing would be not to exist. But consuming mindfully and on well-made things means we consume less over time, which we believe is a step in the right direction.
What is the reasoning behind the garments' naming/nomenclature?
Our nomenclature allows us to be technical and functional at the same time. The first part of the name, for example L1, is the Lot. The next part is the fabric, where VLT stands for velvet, CHD for chanderi, PPN for poplin, STN for satin and LNN for linen. The third part of the name is the surface texture - SMK means smocked, RCH means ruched and QLT means Quilted. The last part of the name denotes the kind of garment and its place in the chronological sequence of items designed. So TP03 is the third top designed by us.

How do I care for the material? [Respond for each material]
Each product page and the clothing tag will have care instructions for your specific garment. But most of our clothes are meant to be dry cleaned only or cold washed only.
How do I know if the size is right for me?
Most of our garments are constructed to be dynamic and can go up and down a size. Our textures and surface techniques also ensure that each garment has a wealth of stretch and is capable of sculpting your body and moving with it, especially since our bodies change constantly.

Do you provide repair or alteration services?
Prior to purchase, you can send us details about customisation requirements at lot1@acquire.gallery. Size changes are free while design changes will be chargeable.
Do you provide extra materials like buttons/bows?
We provide extra buttons with all items that use buttons. We do not provide extra bows.
Are you available in any physical stores?
We are currently stocked at Bombaim, Kolkata and Parampara, Jaipur with more physical retail outlets planned in the future. We also participate in pop-ups like Blur the Border and OAT (One Amazing Thing). Returns, Refunds and Exchanges
How long do you take to ship an order?
All orders are processed & shipped within 2-14 working days.
You will receive a tracking ID from our logistics partners once your order is shipped.
Do note, Saturdays & Sundays would not count as working days.
Am I reimbursed if the order is damaged before it is delivered?
Please document the damage in a video and send it to us with details at lot1@acquire.gallery We will get back to you.
Can I exchange my order if I do not like its fit/shade/material?
As a young brand, we can not accomodate exchange requests if you change your mind. But if you have received an incorrect or defective garment or the incorrect size, we’re happy to provide an exchange within 7 days of you receiving it.
Items must be unworn, unwashed, and undamaged, with tags still attached and in their original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. All items are exchangeable for your original order only.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns for ready-to-ship items if an incorrect item has been shipped.
Our made-to-measure items cannot be returned, as they are customized to you and therefore cannot be recirculated.

Shipping
Do you provide free shipping?
We offer free shipping for delivery all over India.
Are you responsible for the order once it has been shipped?
Incase of any unanticipated delays we will get in touch with you via email, and do our best to sort out the problem.
The goods not received or collected by you at the time of delivery, will be returned to us. In the time of such an event, we will contact you to schedule a second delivery attempt or to agree on the future course of action.
Unless otherwise agreed, any delivery attempt starting from the second shall be at your expense.
Do you provide international shipping? Are there any additional taxes I will have to pay for?
International shipping will be arranged on request. Please contact us on lot1@acquire.gallery with your order details.
For all international orders, you will need to pay for all import taxes, duties and tariffs (if any) as per your country’s governing laws in order to clear customs.
Can I track my shipment?
You will receive your order tracking number on your registered email ID, but you can also log into your account on the ACQUIRE website to manage & track all your orders.

What if a transaction fails in the middle of purchasing?
Please take a screenshot of the failed transaction and and attempt to place the order again. If money is deducted from your account more than once, send us the screenshot with details at lot1@acquire.gallery and your money will be refunded to you in 5-7 days.
